Litigation – Law Suits and Going to Court

I hate litigation. Actually, to be honest, I often enjoy it. I’m good at it. I just hate seeing my clients get involved.

I used to sit as a small claims court judge and before each session I would send the combatants out to try to settle with these words: “I know you all think you have a great case, but I promise you, if you don’t settle at least ½ of you will not be happy with my decision. And more importantly, I am capable of making a decision that will make both sides unhappy.”

That sums up my advice to clients. Even if you win, you will probably not be very happy at the end of the ordeal. Avoid litigation at almost any cost. But if you can’t avoid it, at least manage it well.
